Professor Cathy Abbot will begin her Trustee position in May 2022. She takes over from Professor Narender Ramnani (Royal Holloway, University of London). Trustees of the British Neuroscience Association (BNA) help to run and guide the association.

The British Neuroscience Association is a UK-wide organisation which represents neuroscientists and promotes neuroscience. It has over 2,600 members and has been active for over 50 years.

Cathy Abbott is Professor of Mammalian Molecular Genetics and a Group Leader at CGEM. Her work focuses on the translation elongation factor eEF1A2 and its role in neurological disorders.

I have admired the BNA and their initiatives for a long time so am delighted to be joining the BNA Council. Iā€™m particularly pleased to be able to put my time on the REF2021 subpanel to good use in my role as BNA trustee with responsibility for research policy.
