Meet the team. Alison Munro Alison Munro graduated with a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Glasgow in 2000 and worked as a Technician in Professor David Argyle's group, studying cancer in various animal species. She then spent a decade in Professor John Bartlett's lab at the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, focusing on clinical trials and biomarker research for ovarian, prostate, and breast cancer, earning an M.Sc. on breast cancer drug response. In 2013, Alison joined Professor Neil Carragher's Drug Discovery group as a Senior Research Assistant working on breast cancer industry collaborations.Alison is currently the Lab Manager of the Drug Discovery Group, together with being the Facility Manager of HTPU Microarray Services where she oversees all aspects of the facility whilst also being lab based and conducting customer studies. Camilla Drake Camilla Drake joined the team in July 2023 as a Research Technician. She is an experienced Technician with a background in clinical trials, GCLP, Molecular biology and Cell Biology.Camilla’s current role is to conduct customer studies, and assist in the lab management of the Drug Discovery Group. Neil Carragher Neil Carragher graduated with a B.Sc. in cell and immunology from the University of Aberdeen in 1992. He then took up a position within industry at the Yamanouchi Research Institute in Oxford where he also gained his PhD. He held consecutive postdoctoral positions at the University of Washington in Seattle and at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in Glasgow before returning to industry at Astrazeneca. In 2010 he took up the post of Principal Investigator of Drug Discovery at the University of Edinburgh where he leads a research group and is currently Professor of Drug Discovery and an Associate Director of Science for the Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre Neil Carragher Research Group | Institute of Genetics and Cancer | Institute of Genetics and CancerNeil is the academic lead for HTPU Microarray Services.
