Staff fundraiser for Edinburgh Direct Aid

£2,200 raised for aid projects: November 2015

A recent staff fundraising day in the IGMM highlighted the work of Edinburgh Direct Aid (EDA) and raised nearly £2,200 for their aid projects.

The day started with a humbling talk from Dr Denis Rutovitz - a former section head in the MRC Human Genetics Unit and founder of EDA – that highlighted EDA’s recent work in Syrian refugee camps. Staff were inspired and motivated to spend money at the craft sale that followed the talk to enable EDA’s imaginative work to continue.

The committee organising the craft sale, led by Heather Davidson and with representatives from all partner centres, harnessed the fantastic range of crafting and baking talent across the Institute to provide a huge variety of goods for sale, and many generous donations for the tombola and raffle.

Edinburgh Direct Aid have sent their thanks to the IGMM community and expressed the great difference the £2,200 raised will make.
