The awards were open to staff from across the College in recognition of collective and individual achievements.

Congratulations to the team at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer Zebrafish Facility  - Cameron Wyatt, Charli Corcoran and Jonathan Smith – recipients of this year’s Community Engagement Award.

The Award is given to an individual or team who has fostered transformative connections with external partners in the Edinburgh region. Awardees deliver positive social change and demonstrable, lasting impact for the University’s community. They are recognised for encouraging and engaging colleagues to work in partnership to achieve shared goals.

The Zebrafish Facility team won the award for their work supporting the Understanding Animal Research Concordat on openness around the use of animals in research, to which the University is a signatory.

The team have contributed to a range of outreach and engagement events and have led conversations about how and why fish are used in medical research into conditions that affect human health.

Congratulations to the Clinical Vet Services People and Money Task Force Team including Stephen Lissaman, joint winners of the Team Excellence Award and to the College Finance Business Partnering Team including Nicola Humphreys, joint winners of the Exceptional Service Award.
