Generation Scotland Symposium 2025

Please join us on Tuesday 26 August 2025 | 10:00 – 16:00 | Playfair Library, Edinburgh. We are also offering the opportunity to join online.

Generation Scotland is a collaboration between NHS Scotland, the University of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, with over 40,000 participants across Scotland. Generation Scotland is longitudinal family focused cohort study aiming to support health research for public good. Our mission is to advance mental and physical health research in areas including mental health, loneliness, cancer, dementia, reproductive health, the genetics of disease and much more. You can find out more about the initiative at our website: https://genscot.ed.ac.uk/what-is-generation-scotland/about-us.

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 20th year of Generation Scotland. We will celebrate this milestone by hearing from our founding and current researchers, supporters, as well as volunteers, to look back on everything we have achieved over the past 20 years. We will also highlight our recent recruitment efforts as we attempt to double the size of the cohort, and what exciting plans lie ahead.

We have an exciting line up of speakers, including Professor Cathie Sudlow, Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, and Professor Andrew Morris. This event is a fantastic networking opportunity.

More details about our programme and speakers are available on our website: Generation Scotland Symposium 2025 and on our Eventbrite page.
