Who We Are
The IGC Mass Spectrometry Facility at the University of Edinburgh offers expert-led proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics services to academic and industrial researchers. With over 16,000 citations and 180+ publications, we bring world-class analytical capability and biological expertise to your research questions.
We specialise in working with precious and low-input samples — including single-cell proteomics, deep visual proteomics from FFPE tissue, and integrated multiomics from a single sample. Every project is supported from experimental design through to full bioinformatic analysis and biological interpretation.
Our Three Pillars:
- Proteomics — from bulk expression to single-cell and spatial resolution
- Metabolomics — precise identification and isotope tracing of metabolic pathways
- Lipidomics — high-accuracy profiling of cellular lipid landscapes and signalling
Our Speciality: Spatial, Single-Cell and Integrated Multiomics — proteins, metabolites and lipids from the same precious sample.
