Alana manages the day-to-day administration of the Graduate Research and Training programme.

For queries related to Postgraduate Research and Training, Alana provides support to prospective, on-programme and visiting students, as well as supervisors and academic staff. When appropriate they will signpost students and staff to key central university services.

Alana works closely with Centre PG Directors to enhance the Student Experience and oversee the following areas of work:

• Student Recruitment & Admissions
• Tier 4 Engagement & Monitoring process for international students
• Visiting student admissions
• Manage Graduate Research and Training website in liaison with PG Directors
• Coordinate teaching programme
• Organise student events e.g. Science at the Interface to Industry, Christmas lectures, John Inglis talks etc.
• Organise and minute Staff Student Liaison Committee (SSLC) / Postgraduate Studies Committee (PGSC)
• Manage Student Social Media Platform
